WHAT IS DANCESPORT?
DanceSport is the term used when referring to competitive Ballroom and Latin American dancing. This glamorous, exciting activity has been renamed to suit its modern image as a demanding sport. At its heart though, DanceSport is an art form based on creativity and connection.
DanceSport encompasses multiple dance styles. Each style expresses different interpretations of dance aesthetic and athleticism based on cultural, musical and historical qualities.
In Australia, DanceSport is a vibrant community boasting more than 3,000 registered professional and amateur athletes. National DanceSport competitions are held every month around the country. DanceSport prides itself on inclusivity and diversity - events cater to dancers of all ages and all abilities (e.g. vision impaired, hearing impaired, Para Dance).

ANNALISA ZOANETTI & SIGURDUR SIGURDSSON
The SA Open is proud to announce an exhibition floorshow featuring Latin DanceSport superstars,
Annalisa Zoanetti and Sigurdur Thor Sigurdsson (Siggi).
The floorshow will occur during the Evening Session.

Annalisa (South Australia) and Siggi (Iceland) are the 8 times reigning Australian champions in Professional Latin-American DanceSport. They are the 2022 Singapore Open Professional Latin champions and are ranked in the top 20 professional Latin dance athletes in the world.
Annalisa and Siggi currently represent Iceland on the international stage.
